Classes for the Community

Courses Offered by the UO Confucius Institute

Chinese Language Courses

The UO Confucius Institute offers three levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced) of self-study “Survival Chinese” courses through the Yamada Language Center. These courses are designed with community participants in mind, including middle- and high-school students, who would like to learn the basics of Chinese language at their own pace and with the assistance of an instructor. There will be no examinations, and participants who take the class for credit will give a presentation in class during finals week. Current UO students are also welcome to take these courses, but please be aware that they do not meet degree language requirements. These courses are perfect for preparation for a trip to China, as well as an introduction for secondary students who are considering the CHN 101 series (and beyond) when they attend as college students.

LT 199 – Chinese, CRN 13650
